Cheam Park, UK
We walked hand in hand looking for a place to eat. We were hungry and losing patience a bit. But that didnt stop my curiosity from getting the better of me as I saw what looked like the edge of a park. “What’s that” I wondered? I walked through the trees, looked up and forgot to breathe. Never had I ever seen a view such as this. I knew I had to come back to draw.
So, today, sketchbook and paints in hand, I walked with my husband to the opening in the trees, found a bench in the warmth of the sun, and painted. After about 10 minutes, it began to drizzle ever so lightly, but we stayed strong and it soon went along its way. Today was a good day.
Being in Europe, I have learned to use my sketchbook more purposefully and it has changed everything for me. It’s affected the way I approach my art in general, even illustration and animation work I do on a daily basis. It pushes me to experiment, try something new, learn, observe, and create.
